Research Desk

Research Desk is the editorial identity behind this site. It covers the people who build the blending engine, document it, and maintain the research pages.

Why an editorial identity rather than a byline

Most of what this site publishes is documentation of a piece of software: what it measures, how it scores, and where it fails. That work is not really authored in the way an essay is, and attaching an invented personal name with invented credentials to it would be worse than honest attribution to the desk that maintains it.

If a named human author writes a field notes piece in future, that piece will carry their name.

What the desk is responsible for

Documenting every scoring change on the methodology page and bumping the engine version. Keeping the regression checks and the limits report generated from the live engine rather than from notes. Publishing the human review protocol before collecting data, and reporting failures alongside successes when there is data.

Answering corrections. The contact page reaches the desk directly.
