Couple Name Lab

Disclaimer

This site is a naming tool and a set of notes about how it works. Nothing here is legal, professional or linguistic advice, and no result it produces should be treated as a decision.

The structure report is a measurement, not a verdict

The engine reads spelling. It reports how much of each name survives into a blend, whether the split is even, which letters meet at the join, and which spellings tend to trip readers up. It cannot hear a name, does not know what one means in your family or your language, and has no idea what a community already calls a pairing.

So the ranking orders candidates by structure and by nothing else. The limits report documents the situations where that ordering should be ignored, with examples generated from the live engine rather than written from memory.

No availability check of any kind

We do not check whether a blend is an existing trademark, a registered company, a domain, a handle on any platform, a tag already in use for a different pairing, or a word that means something unfortunate in a language neither of us speaks. The engine has no dictionary and no cultural knowledge, so a blend with a serious problem will look exactly like one without.

If you intend to trade under a combined name, register a business, or attach it to anything with money in it, run a proper trademark search in your jurisdiction and get professional advice first. If you only want a nickname or a hashtag, a plain web search plus a search on the platform itself takes about thirty seconds and catches most of it.

The optional AI mode

The AI-assisted suggestions come from a third party language model. Its output is not reviewed by a person before you see it, it can be wrong, and it can be unavailable. The main blender does not depend on it and everything else on the site works without it.

Research pages

The regression checks and the limits report are generated from the live engine at build time, so they describe the tool as it is today. They are not evidence that any name is good. The human review study publishes its protocol and states plainly that it has collected no data yet, and it will keep saying so until there is data.
